Homemade Hair Conditioner Recipes - Moisturize, Soften and Restore Your Hair
A hair conditioner is a term that means more than one thing.
The first and foremost purpose of it is to moisturize the hair and the scalp. Due to external influences and also internal body reactions (hormones, stress...), the skin on our head reacts differently. The most common reaction is dryness.
In homemade hair conditioners, ingredients like avocado and olive oil act as humectants. They trap in the moisture and keep it locked so that the hair shaft can receive the moisture it needs.
Combining them with natural hair care products also is a great way to help and restore damaged hair. It coats the shaft and protects it, infusing it with nourishing elements that help its resilience and shine.
Nourishing hair conditioner is specifically used for dry hair and dry scalp. It has oils that don't leave a greasy residue, but still provide enough moisture for hair to shine and look healthy.
You could always choose to buy a shampoo, but there are homemade recipes that are cheaper to make and all natural. Oily hair shampoo and conditioner target the excess oil that causes the hair to become oily. On the other side, there are dry hair shampoo recipes which restore the moisture and prevent dry, flaky skin of the scalp.
They are often used as detanglers, coating the hair shaft with polymers that prevent it from sticking together and tangling up.
The best conditioner is the one that give the best results when used on your hair. There is no way to tell the specific hair conditioner will be "the one". You need to try them and see which one fits you best.
To finish off, use a hair rinse which will boost up the natural shine and volume.
The first recipe helps moisturize the hair. The avocado is a moisturizing element and together with mayonnaise added it is perfect for dry, brittle hair.
Avocado hair moisturizer
Ingredients
* 1/4 avocado, peeled and mashed
* 1/4 mayonnaise
* blender or food processor
Preparation
* Combine avocado and mayonnaise in a blender or food processor until the mass is consistent and smooth
* Apply on hair and cover with a shower cap
* Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes
* Rinse off with a gentle shampoo
Deep conditioner
Ingredients
* 3-4 drops of essential oils of your choice
* 1 teaspoon of olive oil
* 1 egg
Preparation
* Beat the egg
* Mix in the rest of the ingredients
* Apply on the hair and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes
* Rinse off using a gentle shampoo
This hair conditioner helps moisturize (olive oil) and soften your hair (egg). You can keep it refrigerated in a plastic container with a lid. Shake it well before using it.

African American Hairstyles - Braids Or Weaves?
The styles and numbers of African American hairstyles are limitless. There is short hair, long hair, curly hair, wavy hair, braided hair and the styles go on and on. But why are there so many?
The African American hairstyles are limitless. Majority of African Americans do not show their real hair. Women wear wigs and hair pieces. You seldom will see an African American sporting their actually hair. Their hair is so course that they only get it washed once a week and sometimes if it is an important occasion.
Braids and weaves are the most popular among the African American culture. Weaving is process where other hair that matches the person's actual hair color is weaved or glued to their real hair. They can make their normal hair style go from 2 inches up to 10 inches in a matter of hours. Women, men and children will sit for hours just to get their hair done. It has been known that even the youngest of children a few months old will go through this process.
Braids are another popular style which can take multiple hours to do. Depending on the length of the hair already it can take up to 12 hours just to get all the braids done. Braiding is a style which any age or sex can get done. It uses the real hair or they glue other braids in with their real hair to make a more dramatic effect.
African American's have so many hairstyles that it is hard to list them all. African Americans hair gets a whole lot greasier and oilier than most white or Caucasian American's. They use cocoa butter and products that contain heave oils to make their hair appear greasy. They believe that washing their hair often causes it to break and get dry which makes it fall out.
The African American hairstyles are endless but the African Americans are famous for their hairstyles it's what makes them unique.

The 70s Theme Will Bring Back Big Hair And Disco
A 70s theme should include bell bottoms, rock and roll, long hair on boys and girls, bean bag chairs, all things disco, or Farrah Fawcett dos...These things are all the stuff of which a great 70s theme party is made!
Tye dyed shirts, rainbows, afro and hippie wigs, fringed, raveled jeans with extra wide bells...these things defined a nation as change and controversy rang bells, changed lives, and created a generation of the best and brightest with ideals over the moon, and ambition to match!
All these things can combine to create a 70s theme sure to give your guests a real blast from the past!
Hang a disco ball, put on the movie "Staying Alive" or any disco CD, and do the Latin Hustle Bump, wearing your famous throw back leisure suit and printed nylon shirt, or bell bottom wranglers, and dance the night away to a decidedly 70s beat! Look back in time with a classic 70s theme trivia game.
Always a good choice for 70s theme party games, Name that song, seventies style, or a karaoke/disco dance contest! Just play snippets of songs or movie or T.V. themes, and let guests guess which music matches which song or show! The guest who gets the most correct answers wins the prize. Another option is to play a snip of a song, stop the music, and see if the guest whose turn it is can finish the lyric!
Serving period foods, candies, and drinks really can be a huge hit at 70s theme parties. Fondue featuring chunks of smoked sausage or bread chunks dipped into melted cheese fondue, or fruit or angel food cubes dipped into chocolate are great choices. Bowls or baskets of period candies like Marathon bars, Caravelle bars, or even Ding Dongs, and Mello Yello or apple beer can surely take your guests back into the 70s!

70s Clothing
The 1970s is the decade that gave birth to fun and electrifying styles in the fashion world. People during that era defined fashionable as an adventurous immersion into loud and extravagant clothing designs. The popular trend was characterized by conspicuous outfits, heavy makeup and outlandish hairdos. The highest level of fashion experimentation happened in that decade. Although, it doesn't mean to say that, all the designs created then can still be considered glamorous today. 70s clothes were in a class of their own. Some fabulous pieces can still be adapted by modern fashion but others are too reminiscent of the era and they probably best remain as iconic and distinctive representations of that period. After all is said and done, the designs of that daring and innovative time left a legacy that is unparalleled by other fashion trends and they are characteristically and undeniably considered as 70s fashion.
Some of the unique trends that gained popularity during the 70s are the afro hairdo, neon colored clothing, flared pants, and hippie outfits. The outrageous concoction of bright colors was just stunning. The combination of psychedelic designs such as floral prints, animal patterns, lacy fabrics, and sequined and glossy textures are just awe-inspiring. Never in a million years would you consider some of the pattern and fabric combinations but they just worked well during the 70s. Everybody seemed to have a lot of fun with the mixing and matching of seemingly incompatible pieces of garment. It was just so amazing. The crazy hot pink and neon green wigs with ruffled purple blouses for women were outstanding and the yellow suit jackets and matching pants with animal printed collars for the men were simply breathtaking. The glam rock fashion was totally in and everybody was jumping on the bandwagon.
It is great to see that we can relive that colorful era with costume parties these days, and what better place to find these clothes than vintage and thrift stores that display such a wide assortment of these vibrant and extravagant fashion relics. You can also find quite a few of these eye catching old fashions available both online and off at shops that specialize in vintage clothing or costumes based on the fashions of previous decades. For people who want to get their hands on original clothing from the actual era, sites like eBay might be a good solution, but prices may be higher than you would expect as demand for this old clothing has been growing over recent years.
If you have a love of the seventies, you might enjoy reading more about 70's clothes.

Argan Oil - A "Miracle Oil" Hair Treatment From Morocco?
Those of us who have dry or brittle hair have been searching for a solution to naturally moisturize and add body to our lifeless hair. Is the latest trend in hair treatment - Argan Oil - the solution?
Argan Oil is a natural, certified organic (when not blended) oil native to Morocco. Derived from the crushed fruit and nuts of the Argan tree, indigenous to Morocco, Moroccans have been using the oil as a treatment in hair and skin care products for centuries. The oil is high in unsaturated fatty acids and rich in Omega 9 - shown to be helpful at improving hair strength and health.
Surprisingly, Argan oil is non-greasy and non-oily and has become popular as a hair treatment to repair and heal damaged hair. Many believe it is excellent for locking in moisture and improving shine and luster.
Its' primary benefit seems to come from its ability to naturally hydrate and to help stop frizziness, fly-away and hard to control, unmanageable hair. Similar in properties to Jojoba oil - derived from mid-western U.S shrubs - Argan oil has been shown to penetrate the hair shaft and almost instantly improve follicle elasticity and increase nourishment.
Generally (and recommend) applied following shampooing to wet hair, Argan oil helps detangle. It is rich in natural antioxidants that are effective free-radical fighters - helping to repair cellular membrane damage and improve strength. It naturally contains Vitamin E that helps revive and renew hair damaged by heat, wind, oxidization or over-styling and processing.
Dubbed the "miracle oil" from Morocco, it competes with Jojoba oil as a very effective hair treatment that renourishes and replenishes dry or brittle hair while protecting and healing damage. As an added benefit, Argan Oil appears to help color treated hair. Essential fatty acids smooth and coat the follicle shaft and have been shown to extend the life of color treated hair.
Argan Oil is fast coming on the scene as the hair treatment of choice by professional stylists and their customers. Damage from excessive styling, perms or the environment leave hair dry and weak - slowing growth and increasing frizziness. The search for a hair treatment for dry may be over? Maybe so!
Shop HealthyHairPlus for Moroccan Argan Oil - a deep penetrating hair oil treatment for dry or brittle hair. Keep up the with latest hair products - hair shampoo, conditioners, styling aids and hair treatments for healthy hair.

How to Dance Like Elvis Presley
Elvis was a celebrity who really cemented His place in the history books, not only with his music, but with his dancing as well. His performances were viewed as racy and inappropriate because of the responses he elicited from the women and girls in his audience, There is a lot of footage of girls screaming and crying while watching him perform. He exhibits a certain playfulness and some of his moves are very sexually suggestive. To understand his dance moves throughout his career, we must look at his early beginnings and where the moves came from in the first place.
In 1954 "That's All Right" was released and played on the radio to such success, that it may well be credited with his first breakthrough. His sound had successfully melded black blues and boogie- woogie music, which was exactly what Sam Phillips (then head of Sun Records) was looking for. At his first paid gig at the Overton Park Band Shell on July 30 of that year his legs began to shake uncontrollably while performing. His loose wide-legged pants accentuated the movement and it made the girls in the audience scream with delight. They had never seen someone perform that way. It was after this performance that Elvis began incorporating more of the leg shaking movements into his act. The alternate leg bending moved into pelvic gyrations and hip thrusts that were censored for many audiences. He was often recorded on video only from the waist up.
To do this classic move stand with your legs wide apart and as you lift your right heel off the ground, bend your right knee and begin to rotate your knee in a circle. Let the circle get wider and wider, but leave your toe in contact with the ground. You can come close to flipping your foot so that the top of the toes are brushing the ground during a rotation, and even bend the other leg to get lower down.
All of the moves in this article complete your Elvis costume! Another important part(of any successful Elvis costume is a good wig, which you can find at any online costume wig (store that has afro wigs, clown wigs, and the like. Another classic move of Elvis' was used in the video for "Jailhouse Rock". There was a fireman's pole on the set of that shoot and he would lean on the pole with his shoulder, and anchoring the pole between his neck and shoulder leaning slightly forward, and with his legs spread, move his head and sway his hips to the same side to the beat of the music. His arms were also spread wide and his gaze was lowered during this move.
Elvis was a black belt in Karate and also studied Ju-Jitsu, and had an interest in other martial arts as well. As he continued performing and evolving in his career has began incorporating some martial arts moves into his act. Especially during his Vegas performances he is often seen making kung fu movements with his hands and body. In his well known jumpsuits, he would often throw in a roundhouse kick in the air at a suitable moment in a song. Whether you want to use his knocking knees, swaying hips, jelly legs, pumping hips, or kung-fu kicks, there is ample video online for help getting it right.
You'll also want to notice his head movement. He would often dance with such force that he would shake his hair loose, which means a lot of head shaking. Whatever dance move you choose to employ to pull of your Elvis impersonation, make sure that you have a good Elvis wig that will stay on when you "Shake, Rattle and Roll"!
If you really want to add to your Elvis Costume you'll need a great source of Elvis Presley Wigs. You can find great elvis wigs at any online store like this one that sells Halloween Wigs.

The Benefits of Raw Shea Butter in Natural Hair
I have natural 4b hair and I recently ran out of my usual daily moisturizer. With the knowledge of knowing how important it is to have my hair type moisturized daily to prevent breakage I had to find an alternative to hold me over until I could order my favorite moisturizer. I went through several tried in failed attempts to discover what would work best.
The first thing I tried was misting my hair with plain waiter followed by the small amount of moisturizer that was left. By the time my hair completely dried, my hair was hard and dry. I then tried applying conditioner to my hair and water. The same result followed: dry, hard hair.
So I decided to use another moisturizer that I had on hand. I didn't really like this moisturizer because it is more of a moisturizing liquid spray, instead of a cream or lotion. Used alone this moisturizer would leave my hair feeling pretty hard when it dried. The moisturizer I am referring to is the CURLS Quenched Curls Moisturizer.
I first used plain water to mist my hair so it was damp all over. I then took the Quenched Curls Moisturizer and sprayed several squirts throughout my hair. I massaged the moisturizer in my hair from root to tip and combed my hair with a wide tooth comb. I then took a dollop of raw shea butter(the yellow kind), rubbed it in my hands to melt it and applied it section by section into my hair, getting more shea butter as needed. I finally combed my hair once again to distribute the shea butter evenly and my afro looked lovely.
Q. Even though my hair was soft now, how would it feel once it was dry?
A. After a few hours my hair still felt soft and moisturized.
Q. The following day?
A. My hair still felt soft and moisturized.
I was amazed at this revelation of how beneficial shea butter can actually be in black hair!
Natural raw shea butter acts as a natural conditioner and sealant. It seals in the much needed moisture into our hair, strengthens it and imparts a natural shine. You can also use it for twists and braids. I recommend all black women to introduce shea butter to part of their hair care routine whether you are all natural or relaxed. Your hair will benefit from it no matter what!
For the above regimen, any moisturizer can be used. You can also purchase a bottle of Pure Aloe Vera Juice and Vegetable Glycerin. Next measure 1 cup each of pure water, aloe vera, and the vegetable glycerin into a spray bottle. This is a great alternative to the Quenched Curls Moisturizer. Make sure you refrigerate this mixture, and use it in about a week because it contains no preservatives.

How to French Braid Hair - Step by Step Guide For You
When you look at a French braid, you will see that it is a beautiful style, but it is not so easy to learn. However, if you follow these steps on how to French braid hair, you will find it easy.
1. If you do not know how to braid hair, then you need to learn. French braiding consists of the basic braid and it will be hard to do if you are not able to do a basic braid.
2. Brush your hair thoroughly and get rid of any of those tangles. Comb the hair straight back.
3. Where you want the braid to start, separate three sections of the hair. You could choose to start low on your head right above your ears, or you may choose to start around your bangs. Make sure the strands of hair are separated all the way to the ends of your hair.
4. Start the braid by crossing the right strand over the middle strand.
5. After this, pick up other sections of your hair and add it to the three strands you already have and braid them in.
6. Repeat the process until you reach the end of your hair.
7. Don't forget to tie the end off so that it does not unravel and you have to do the whole process over.
8. Feel free to put hairspray so that the hair does not fall out.
As we stated, French braiding can be hard. However, with the right instructions and patience on your hand, you will be able to figure it out in no time. Take note that it is not going to be perfect and it may never be perfect, but it will still look beautiful. This is a great style for both medium and long length hair. It is perfect for casual events or sporting events.
On CoolMensHair.com Haircut Ideas, you will find hair styling tips and tons of cool hairstyles including different variations of braid styles. Choose one that suits you.

The Wonders of Hair Extensions
Hair Extensions have widely grown in popularity in the past years and they are now used by many people across the world as a way of adding length, fullness, texture and colour to natural hair. The reasons for the use of hair extensions can vary from being hair loss through medical treatment or just purely for cosmetic reasons. Whatever your reason here's a little bit of information to help you with your hair extension decisions.
The use of versatility of hair extensions has been recognised among many different ethic and social groups. They are made from a range of human hair and synthetic fibres but how do you no which is right for you?
Realistically either human or synthetic or perfectly fine to be used for hair extensions even though human hair is always often preferred due to the fact it blends in which your natural hair more as it is the same texture and more likely to be a more natural colour. Human hair is available in different grades with the main suppliers of it is India, China and Eastern European countries.
Synthetic hair however does have its advantages. You can get synthetic hair in any colour that you could possibly imagine and it is generally less expensive than human hair. You can also purchase synthetic hair in a range of different styles such as:
o Yaki - pure straight, usually mimicking the straightness of Asian hair.
o European - this is more natural-looking straight hair that may have a slight wave to it
o Deep Wave - while generally not a true 'wave', it can be made to look like spiral curls.
o Loose Deep Wave or Romance Wave - looser version of the deep wave, softer curls.
o Jheri Curl - usually sold in very short lengths, it is often used to recreate the full 'afro' look.
o Wet and Wavy (Spanish Wave or Indian Wave) - usually human hair is used, and is either naturally curly or permanently waved to appear so.
If you wanted to create these sort of styles with human hair extensions you would have to have the style placed onto the extensions after you had them placed in, costing you more. Human hair however outweighs synthetic immensely when it comes to what you can do with them when they have been placed in.
When it comes to the styling and washing of your hair with your hair extensions in, extra care will need to be taken but this doesn't necessarily mean that it will cause you extra work. The shampooing of your hair should be done in the same way for human hair and synthetic fibres. You should continue to wash your hair how you always have, however it may be a good idea to switch to a more mild shampoo and conditioner. This, along with using cool water, helps to dramatically reduce tangles.
The styling of your hair extensions can be carried out like normal, just like how you treat your normal hair, if you have human hair extension, which gives them a major advantage over synthetic hair as synthetic hair restricts you from styling.
It is not advisable to use heat on synthetic hair as it has the potential to burn or melt the hair. This means that you would have problems when it comes to drying, straightening or curling your hair.
If you are considering having hair extensions please speak to your stylist before making any major decisions.

Making Your Own Italian Fashion Statement
We see fashionable clothes and make up styles evolving through the years. Each year, the fashion industry wants to make a statement setting that year apart from the previous year. The year 1970 was probably the first moment in time that allowed women to decide for themselves as to what they want and what makes them comfortable.
Hot pants, maxi skirts and, especially miniskirts are the staples of a woman's closet and she can choose what she wants to wear when she wants to wear them. During a night out in town, you can see women wearing halter tops paired off with evening trousers or with a maxi skirt or other interesting clothing pieces. You can see empire line dresses in knee length or mini skirt style.
The fashion changes varied a lot during this era. Some were soft, some were feminine, some were rock, some were funky. And the fashion changes affected both men and women. Nike added running shoes in both gender's wardrobes.
The most popular hairstyles were the ones popularized by Farrah Fawcett (long and straight, one sided with wings) and afro perms.
Disco style clothing was also very popular thanks to John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever but easily became out of style because the slinky shirts, skin tight pants and platform shoes made the wearer uncomfortable.
Make up was soft, fresh and natural. If you want a tanned look, there were fake tans and bronzers that you can use. The staples were frosted lipstick, shimmery eye shadow and muted blush.

My Journey In Natural African Hair Care
In 1993, I transitioned directly from permed hair to wearing Dreadlocks. Getting your hair to lock is a long, arduous process that requires a tremendous amount of patience and attention. I had to constantly re-twist and cut my hair. As well, I had to apply natural products like the cactus plant Rachette and Indian Hemp that were very strange and exotic to me at the time. After a short while of this natural processing, my hair emerged and it was beautiful! I had this big, twisted-up afro that was so unique, everywhere I went people would stare and gasp in amazement at how tight my hair looked! Between 6 months and a year later, I finally achieved real Dreadlocks. I must say however, that when that time came, I didn't think my hair looked as good. I was happy that I finally had my locks, but they weren't as unique looking as my curly fro.
My locks grew long and naturally (like Bob Marley's), because I didn't believe in going to lockticians to get my hair groomed. To me, wearing your hair Dreadlocked isn't a hairstyle, its a state of mind and I wanted to wear my hair as nappy as possible to demonstrate my love for natural African hair. Overtime however, although I loved my locks, I began to fantasize about that funky afro I had when I first started locking and I realized that I didn't have to wear Dreadlocks to represent. So, on New Year's day 2002, I cut my locks off! It wasn't hard at all and I was ecstatic!
My first non-locked, natural style was a TWA (Teeny Weeny afro). I was self-conscious and apprehensive about wearing my hair so short after all, I went from Dreadlocks almost down to my knees to really short hair. From that point on, my hair grew out to around 5-6 inches long, but it wouldn't grow any longer! I started trying different products and braiding my hair in extensions to get it to grow out, but I never achieved any real length. In fact, one of the last times I braided my hair, half of the length of my hair broke off in the back of my head! It took a terribly long time, but I finally realized I didn't know how to take care of my hair! I was so confused. Why did my Dreadlocks grow so long and so fast, but not my afro? So i jumped on the computer and started researching. Soon enough, I stumbled upon the natural African hair care videos on YouTube and my mind was blown!
I was doing EVERYTHING wrong! I learned that everybody's hair grows about 1 1/2 inches a month, but if your hair is breaking you will never see the growth. I thought my God, every time I wash my hair, I blow dry it and the sink is always full of hair. I also learned we aren't supposed to comb, brush or manipulate our hair too much, as this causes breakage as well. Again I thought to myself, my hair grew so long when I had locks, because I basically left it alone.
I gained such a wealth of knowledge from the online, natural African hair care community, that I was completely overwhelmed. Everything we are taught as Black women about hair care is wrong! EVERYTHING! No wonder so many of us seem to be relegated to the same short hairstyles and result to wearing weaves or wigs to know what it looks and feels like to have long hair.
I have nothing but respect and great admiration for Madame CJ Walker for innovating in hair care for Black women, but that was 100 years ago. While some of her inventions served us well in the past, others do nothing for the true health and growth of natural African hair today. It's time for Black women around the world to step into the 21st century and get educated in the Science of Natural African Hair Care. Now get with the program and Grow Your Natural!
This article outlines part of the author's journey in natural African Hair Care. For more information on the care of natural Black hair, go to: http://www.GrowYourNatural.blogspot.com

5 Ways to Regrow Hair Naturally For Beautiful, Healthy Hair
Losing your hair can be a devastating change for many people. Both men and women can lose hair, or experience thinning hair that occurs throughout the scalp. Regrowing your hair does mean that you will need to make some changes, including changes in your diet and in your hair care regime.
Become Healthier
Your body needs several vitamins and minerals in order to produce beautiful, healthy hair. B-vitamins, especially vitamin B6, are very important for your body to produce hair naturally. You can find B vitamins in eggs, meats and nuts.
You will also want to include vitamins A and C in your everyday diet. Milk is and excellent source of vitamin A, while vitamin C can be found in most citrus fruits and in fortified drinks that are convenient, even if you have a super busy day.
Protect Your Follicles
If you have any kind of scalp problems, such as dandruff, then you should treat these conditions on an as-needed basis. While there is not scientific link between hair loss and dandruff, scratching your hair continuously can cause some damage to your scalp, making it harder to regrow hair.
DHT is also commonly known as a cause of hair loss in men. DHT is an enzyme that binds to your hair follicles, causing them to eventually die. Using an over the counter herb such as saw palmetto can help reduce the amount of DHT in your body, and allow you to successfully regrow hair.
Use Minoxidil
Minoxidil is one of the best choices for hair loss. You can find Minoxidil in over the counter shampoos for hair loss, which are widely available. You will want to find the dosage that is right for you, however, so talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you begin using a shampoo with Minoxidil for hair loss.
Too much Minoxidil will not make your hair grow faster, but it may be more costly than lower doses.
Add Exercise
If you are experiencing hair loss due to naturally occurring DHT, then you may be able to lower the levels of DHT in your body by adding an hour of exercise to your daily schedule. Exercise has been though to lower the levels of DHT in the body, but only if you are involved in an aerobics-based exercise regime that does not include weight lifting.
Change Shampoos
Lastly, you may want to eliminate the chemical sodium lauryl sulfate from your shampoos and conditioners. Sodium lauryl sulfate has been known to dry hair out, making it brittle and easily broken. It would be difficult to regrow hair when you are experiencing problems with breakage, and it is easier to regrow hair when the hair is already healthy.

Great Elvis Costume Ideas
If you decide to dress up as Elvis this Halloween, there are many sources you can look to for inspiration. While we generally thing of Elvis' career and appearance as being divided into two parts, the earlier and the later, there are many variations of costume that will be recognizable as The King of Rock and Roll.
When Elvis was just beginning his career as a performer, he would often wear a plain black suit. Provided the jacket is roomy enough, and the pant are wide legged enough to show movement, the added hairstyle and attitude will be more than enough for a decent Elvis costume. If you have no hair find a nice costume wig to substitute.
A classic picture and video of Elvis making a name for himself shows him wearing a light colored blazer with dark or black pants and a skinny tie. You'll have to sing a few bars of a song, and show off some dance moves, but this one will work very well.
In one of his first big breakout hits, Jailhouse Rock, Elvis wore a modified jail costume. It combined a black and white striped t-shirt worn underneath a dark work jacket with matching dark work pants. This will be recognizable from miles away provided you create appropriate Elvis hair.
In 1957 Elvis received his draft notice, and while he was able to defer his army service to finish filming "King Creole" he did begin his service in 1958. There are a few variations on this costume and any of them will work. You'll want to find either a standard olive green Army uniform with a wide round hat, or a beige button down with khakis and a forage or garrison cap. Also remember all Elvis costumes NEED a professional quality Elvis wig.
In the time just after his army service and before the jumpsuits of the 70's there is a famous photo of Elvis wearing an all gold suit. The jacket is sleek and well cut and the pants are not fitted too tight. It's worn with a white shirt and a gold skinny tie, and of course you must finish this look with a good head of Elvis hair. Any great Elvis wig(will do if you don't have hair, and keep in mind people are using pink wigs as a new fad for Elvis hair.
One of his most well known and popular outfits is the classic white jumpsuit. This outfit is fitted with the exception of the bell bottomed legs. The shirt has a deep v-neck that shows the chest and a high collar to accentuate his kingly neck and head.
Another of his most popular and well recognized jumpsuits is the royal blue one he wore with a cape. There is a great video of him performing in this outfit showing off his dancing moves. The cape is a great accent if you're going to incorporate some of his kung-fu hand movements and roundhouse kicks.
In his 1968 comeback special, Elvis wore classic head to toe leather. The pants were loosely fitted and flattering, and both the jacket and pants were black. This image of the classic bad boy revived his wilting musical career and kicked up his sex symbol status all the way to the top.

7 Tips How To Grow Black Hair Fast
How to grow black hair fast is the big question on every afro Caribbean's minds especially with so much hair extensions and wigs around these days, no wonder most people just go for the easy option and wear wigs. Well! I am going list 7 tips yo can use to grow black hair fast starting today.
1. The first step to grow black hair fast is to get a trim on a regular basis. You want to get a trim every six to eight weeks to get rid of Fragilitis crinium other wise known as split ends that normally stagnant the hair from flourishing.
2. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. This is very important, you need to grow healthy long hair. Taking in more water the better the condition of your hair. Staying hydrated will make your hair grow shiny and replenish.
3. Eat healthy food, avoid junk such as greasy, sugary and fatty food. Grilled or stir fried options are much better. Also having multi vitamins and lots of fruits and vegetable will increase the hair growth rapidly.
4. Apply oil and moisture to your hair and scalp, regularly massaging the scalp. Massage your scalp at least 5 to seven minutes per day using a excellent pomade like Mizani range. This will encourage the follicles to produce new hair and lengthen the existing ones. Mizani butter blend is also excellent on black hair if you have a relaxer.
5. Style your hair loose most of the time, tight hairstyles will stress the hair and cause traction alopecia, try not to pull and tug too much that will damage the hair and slow down the growing process. Loose plaits and cornrows is ok but remove them and replace instead of keeping it for long periods.
6. Shampoo the hair weekly with moisture base products and have deep conditioning treatment every two to four weeks. Avoid using hot irons and hair straighteners on a regular basis, as too much heat will dehydrate the hair and make it very brittle and even cause breakage. If you have a chemically treated hair, then wrap it smooth and cover with a silk scarf for maximum control.
7. Using Mizani butter blend range is one of the best way to grow black hair fast. This is all moisture base which promotes hair growth and helps hair stay healthy and strong. It has all the necessary oils and moisture need to allow afro hair to grow longer and faster.
Follow these simple tips and in no time you too will be telling others how to grow black hair fast. For help and more tips of how to grow your black hair fast visit: http://innovationshairandbeautysalon.co.uk.

What Human Hair Weaves Are Really Made Out Of
Have you ever wondered what weaves and hair extensions are made of? The process is quite fascinating for some and for others; they may never look at hair extensions, weaves and wigs the same again.
When you purchase products made from human hair, the hair is actually made from real humans. Humans in 3rd world countries, mostly from Asia (China and India) will sell their long locks for money. European hair is very popular in today's market but the texture doesn't match most hair texture of African American women which is why most afro weaves are made from real Indian human hair, Brazilian human hair or just plain old synthetic hair.
When women in these third world countries are looking to sell their hair, the buyers will actually recommend that the women do their best to get their hair healthy. The instructions to get their hair healthy are: eat a healthy diet, refrain from using too many products and especially no heat appliances. For most women the heat appliances and products are not the issue, the issue is a healthy diet. The donors are typically very young women and virgin hair is ideal. Virgin hair means that it has never been chemically treated. Virgin is one of the most expensive types on the market.
Often when you are purchasing "human hair blend" a mixture of real and synthetic strands. In the 1960's yak hair was used in weaves and unfortunately yak hair had a horribly musky odor to it that could not be washed away. This type used to be known as "Yaki" weaves and was introduced by the Koreans but today the term "Yaki" has nothing to do with the animal anymore but has more to do with the texture of the hair. Yaki is actually a more relaxed texture of hair but not as relaxed as the "silky" texture which is usually Asian.
Today's' cheap and imported weaves use real human strands but because of its poor quality the price will also be significantly lower. Low quality hair doesn't tolerate much actual wearing, styling and washing. Quality real human hair costs quite a bit more but can be worth a pretty penny.
Marissa has compiled a fantastic list of the most beautiful afro hair extensions that are a must see, available on her site black hair extensions.

Rastafari and Dreadlocks
While we all know that the Rastafari grow their hair into dreadlocks, what is the actual connection and reason?
Rastafari, or more simply Rasta is a monotheistic religion and spiritual/cultural movement that believes that Halie Selasie I, the Ethiopian emperor from 1934 to 1972 is the incarnation of God, also called Jah. They recognize him as the the returning messiah. They believe that Embodiment of God on earth has occured a number of times and will accur again. They generally follow the Christian doctrine with a few adjustments. The movement emerged in 20th century Jamaica predominantly, and became a much needed source of afro-centrism and Black pride.
Since the Rastas base a lot of their teachings in Christianity, they live by a lot of the commandments from the Old Testament. Not only do they follow the dietary laws of not eating shellfish or pork, but many abstain from meat and dairy altogether. Rastas follow a strict vegan or vegetarian diet during a Dreadlock Preisthood, and many maintain this lifestyle because they believe that this cleanses the body to preserve the "Ark of the Covenant". Rastas also generally abstain from alchohol, believing that consuming items that are pickled or fermented is symbolic of turning the body temple into a cemetary.
As for dreadlocks, they have been associated with the Rasta movement sinc the beginning. Since so much of the commandments in the Old Testament are adhered to , it stands to reason that the rules of hair maintenance and personal hygiene look there for guidance. This passage in Levitcus 21:5 "They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in the flesh." is often interpreted as forbidding the cutting of hair. Perhaps a bit clearer is this section of Numbers 6:5 "All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.". There is evidence that the Nazarites, and the Sufis as well as many others wore dreadlocks, or similar styles. James the Just was described as a man who never cut his hair. While in previous eras, the length of a person's dreadlocks can signify wisdom, as they grow longer with time, in our current time, they more often attest to the time one has spent being a Rasta. Today, many people wear who are not Rasta wear dreadlocks as an expression of afro-centric pride, or even simply as a hairstyle. The Rastas that abide very strictly to what is stated in the Bible about hair maintenance, wash thier hair only with water and allow the dreads to lock up on their own. Making the growing and development of dreadlocks an exercise in patience. Those who do not adhere so strictly to the laws of the Old Testament for hair care often wil use dread wax and specifc combs to help the hair dread faster and more smoothly.
Whether you want to learn more about Rastafari or just grow dreadlocks for the style, there is much information to be found about how to encourage them in your own hair. If, however, you'd just like to try them on for a bit, or dress as a Rasta for Halloween, there are many online sources for dreadlock wigs.
If you do want a Rastafari Wig, you'll need to find a costume wig store. The best way to find quality Costume Wigs store is to do a Google Search. You can also find fantastic Dreadlock Wigs the same way.

Types of Hair - Asian Hair
No two persons have the exact hair. The same way different races have different skin color, it's the same way different ethnic groups have different types of tresses. There are three main types depending on ethnic group - Asian, afro-Caribbean and Caucasian - all types having their own unique attributes. No matter how different the types are, they comprised of the same parts. These are the cuticle, cortex, medulla and a very important protein called keratin which is the chief part of all. What determines the shape of your tresses is the shape of each follicle. Asian hair grows from round follicles giving it a bone straight appearance. It has very thick cuticles made up of approximately ten layers while other types have around five.
Asian hair type is the most dominant in the entire universe. It usually has smaller thickness than the other types but it grows faster than the rest by far pertaining to swiftness of growth. The quantity of hair on the head in Asians is small but because of the thickness it appears to be full. It has been found that this type reacts more quickly to care products, specifically, hair loss products. It is considered that this has to do with the natural speed of growth that this type has. It is also stronger than other types and more able to recuperate from damages and it also has the longest cycle of growth which lasts up to nine years. Formerly, this type was the least susceptible but lately Asians have been adopting the practices of the western world. These habits can result in very thin hair as it is not very crowded.
Each type calls for different care procedures and products to fulfill the requirements of that special type. Asian hair absorbs moisture very fast and keeps that moisture. In spite of this, it may undergo extra dryness. This is because it tends to be very long and as a result moisture is lost along the long shaft. Hair loss in Asians is little since few hairs are lost daily. Balding is also a rare occurrence in Asians. This type is generally shiny because of the presence of a medulla containing dark pigment which explains the shininess and high moisture. Asians usually have oily scalp which demands their mane to be washed frequently to avoid a dirty look.
Because Asian hair is long, straight, strong and typically free from chemical impairment it is the ideal type to utilize for extensions. As a result, persons turn to Asian countries for human tresses to be used in wig making and extensions.
This type requires the use of products that are appropriate for that specific kind. Shampoos that have a pH of 5 to 5.5 are ideal; anything over that pH would be too harsh. Individuals of Asian lineage must avoid using products like mineral oil.
Asian styles are usually different. They usually look sleek, smooth and silky. They are also generally extremely straight and flowing. Stylists agree that it is harder to curl and colour when compared to other types. Digital hot perm machines are helpful in styling because they can be set to provide the appropriate heat and chemical solution for any type. Asian hair is dark and therefore adding highlights to it can truly highlight the appearance of the tresses. Double-sided coloring is a great way to augment this type. The underside is colored in a dark brown shade and a lighter shade is dyed on top. This gives a shimmering effect when the hairs rub against each other.

Adults Sports Theme Party
Tips on how to organize a successful adults sport theme party:
1. Send invitations and after the party, thank you letters, with the chosen sports theme.
2. As a host, help your guest get into the party spirit by putting on an outfit that reflects entirely the theme of the party. If your party's theme is baseball, put on an Old Tyme Baseball uniform including black stripes for men or a Fantasy player outfit including a red, white and blue zip front dress with double flounce hem, hat, belt, gloves and inflatable bat, for women. If your party is about Nascar, put on a sexy race crew outfit or dress up like a penalizer referee if you're having a football theme party.
3. Make your guests get into the party's theme from the moment they step in. Order a custom banner and anchor it somewhere at the entrance.
4. Turn the party location into a playground. Get a wall mural. It's easy to handle and it will definitely help you make an impact on your guests. Upon your theme party, get a Baseball or a Pebble Beach Wall Mural. The latter is every golf player's dream location. If you're throwing out a party for surfers, bring the sea or the ocean into your house with a beach scene setter. Some superb add-ons to this landscape could be a few inflatable palm trees with inflatable coconuts or a 24'' Prismatic Sun Balloon with a two-sided design.
5. Reflect the party's theme into to the smallest details. Light you drinks with football shaped ice cubes; get bowling, baseball or basketball shaped candles, depending on your party's theme; have gymnastics napkins, basketball cooler or soccer water bottles.
6. Organize small contests during your party and reward your winning guests with ,bronze, silver and golden medals and even a trophy.
7. Provide tools for your guests to cheer it for their favorite players during the contests you organize within the party. Could be ,boas, pom poms, spirit wigs or afro wigs.
8. If you and your friends are gathering to watch a favorite team or player's performance, make sure you have everything you need for some noise. Baseball horns or baseball tambourines are perfect for a baseball game.
9. In case some of your guests don't come prepared for a sports theme party, you should have at hand party items like baseball or basketball hats, colorful sports eyeglasses, princess bowling shirts, football shirts or football beads.
10. Be cost-effective in organizing your sports theme party. For a baseball party you can get a Home Run Derby Pack including basic items like baseball maracas, horns, clackers, hats, tambourines and medallions. For a football party, you can go for a kit customized with your favorite team's symbols like aTampa Bay Buccaneers Kit or San Diego Chargers Kit.
Organizing a sports theme party is a lot of fun even for adults. Make sure you organize everything to the smallest details in order to reflect the chosen sports theme.
